History
 
 
1977 The club is formed by 5 friends - Jerry & Julie Bates, Ian & Christine, MacMillan and Gerry Starks.
Home ground was Kettering Cricket Club.
Club colours chosen - black, red and white - and badge designed.
1978 Membership had increased to 10 archers, all shooting within the
County. Moved to Burton Park Wanderers in Burton Latimer. Began teaching juniors.
1980 Membership reached 25.
1981 Peter Waterton, ex International Archer (mentioned in the Guinness
Book of Records) joined as Teaching and Equipment Officer.
1983 Badge redesigned to include the Kettering coat-of-arms, with the
permission of the Borough Council.
1985 Club moved back to Kettering Town Cricket & Social Club ground,
and hosted many shoots for County Championships.
1992 Kettering Recreation Hall closed, so Indoor venue moved to Thorpe Malsor village hall.
1999 Jerry Bates, the last of the founding members, leaves the club.
2000 First County Shoot on our ground for 5 years. Several of our archers winning success at County level. Many participate in the County's "1000 Arrow" competition to celebrate the Millennium.
Two of our archers gain County Instructor status, and begin a series of Beginners courses. Membership reaches 30 archers.
2001 Aileen Dowson, from Kettering, wins County's Best Lady Archer award.
Club now boasts 2 Assistant Coaches, and is host to 1 Regional and 3 County shoots. Indoor venue changes to Bishop Stopford School, to accommodate growing membership.
2005 Club continues to grow in numbers. Indoor venue changes from Bishop Stopford to Montagu Sports Centre to accommodate growing number of regular archers
